About WTA

Waikato Touch Association was legally established in 1991 to provide opportunities for the Waikato Community to engage in the sport of Touch. As the Regional Sporting Organisation (RSO) we have a responsibility to work alongside our community to provide these opportunities to include their input as part of how we operate.

Over the past few years, we have experienced a significant growth of members which is thanks to our amazing volunteer committee, the wider Waikato Touch community, our affiliated modules and our 2 current employees.

Our aim is to provide an opportunity that allows inclusion. We provide opportunity for all who look to come together and share their love for the game. We believe the success of our association comes from continuing our connectedness within our community. From social to competitive athletes, Touch is a sport that welcomes all who wish to experience the joy of teamwork and competition.

We are proud to embrace continued collaboration with our stakeholders as we look to now implement certain Kaupapa which aligns with our values. This includes AWHI and our most recent Positive Vibes Only campaigns which look to address non-positive behaviours in our sport. We want to reassure our members that we are providing them a safe and fun environment to be able to participate in.

The sport of Touch is not just a game; it's a part of who we are as a community. We look to embed our values in everything we do to create a better place and pathways for our future generations.
