WAIKATO TOUCH TERM 4 2021 JUNIOR MODULES CANCELLED

28 Oct

Thank you once again for your patience as we navigate all the updates from the Government and determine how we maybe able to provide a Safe Module competition for all those who participate.

With the latest announcement from the Government, The Waikato Touch Association have made an informed decision to Cancel all of our Term 4 2021 Junior Modules, just to be clear that is the Flagstaff Primary School Module, Swarbrick Primary School Module and the Intermediate & Secondary School Module

The decision was a tough one to make as we want our Touch whānau to be able to enjoy recreational activity/sport as we have done in the past.

Due to the uncertainty of the length our current Alert Level lockdown and schools not returning to face to face learning until we are at Alert Level 2 as we know it, we needed to make a decision that considered the Health & Safety of everyone involved and participating in our modules.

We understand that this might not have been the decision you were all hoping for, however we believe it is the right one for us all at this present time.

Our plan forward is to prepare for a return to our Junior Touch Modules in Term 1 of 2022, we believe that we will be in a better position to understand where Sport sits within the Alert Level/Traffic Light framework and what processes/policies we will need to consider to ensure the health and safety of all our participants, as best we can manage. We will keep everyone posted and update our Website with the scheduled dates for the Term 1 2022 Modules prior to the end of the year.

Thank you again on behalf of the Waikato Touch Association for your support and understanding.
